 Golfers travelling to play in US will have to quarantine Leading professional golfers based outside the United States must quarantine in America before resuming the PGA Tour season next month.
This was confirmed as the PGA Tour outlined its plans for a return to action.
There has been no play on the circuit since the abandonment of the Players Championship on 12 March.
Around 25 players eligible to play the Charles Schwab Colonial event in Texas, which will be held between 11-14 June, are currently living outside the US.
Those players include Tommy Fleetwood, Francesco Molinari and Matthew Fitzpatrick.
They need to adhere to American rules requiring 14 days' quarantine after arriving in the country.
"That is currently in place," said PGA Tour administrator Andy Levinson. "It is likely to continue, and so it is imperative that those constituents that need to come back in the United States do so at least two weeks prior to our return to competition."
Fleetwood has already indicated he is unlikely to leave his family to base himself on the other side of the Atlantic for the entire summer. |
 2020 Ryder Cup The 43rd Ryder Cup is held on September 25 to 27, 2020 in United States at Whistling Straits, Haven, Wisconsin. Because of COVID-19, majors are shifting their schedules for the Ryder Cup to November. The Ryder Cup is scheduled to take place only five days after the final round of the rescheduled.
The Ryder Cup is played in played between 12-members teams from United States and Europe. It consists of five match-play sessions played in three days. The European Team will comprise the first 4 players from the European Points List, followed by the leading 4 players from the World Points List and completed by 4 wild cards. The US Team will be made up from the top 8 in the point rankings with 4 captain's picks. Each of the first two days includes one four-match session of four-ball and one four-match session of foursomes. The final day is consists for 12 singles matches. Each match is worth one point, with matches ending in a draw worth ½ point to each side. The first team to reach 14 ½ points wins the Ryder Cup. If the matches end in a 14-14 draw, the team holding the Ryder Cup retains it.

 US PGA Championship 2020 The US PGA Championship is an annual golf tournament organized by the Professional Golfers' Association of America. It is one of the top four professional golf championships.
The 2020 PGA Championship is the 102nd PGA Championship upcoming. Originally scheduled for May 14-17 at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, California, the tournament was postponed to the summer of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On April 6, the PGA announced that the event had been postponed from August 3 to 9, 2020. The event will be the only major event of the PGA Tour 2019-2020 season.
It was previously played in mid-August the third weekend before Labour Day weekend, serving as the fourth and last major of the golf season. Starting in 2019, the tournament will be played in May the weekend before Memorial Day, as the season’s second major.
This is an official silver event on the PGA Tour, European Tour, and Japan Golf Tour, with $ 11 million bag for the 100th edition in 2018.
The PGA championship was held at different sites. Some of the early sites are now quite dark, but in recent years the event has generally been played on a small group of famous courses.

 Military Tribute at The Greenbrier The Greenbrier Classic was a golf tournament in West Virginia on the PGA Tour, played at the Old White TPC at the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs. It debuted in 2010 and replaced the old Buick Open in Grand Blanc, Michigan on the tour schedule.
This golf tournament started 106 years ago in 1914, the Old White course joined the TPC course network in March 2011.
In 2018, the event was renamed A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier, in honour of the U.S. military engagement. United States On the Greenbrier site.
As part of the main changes to the PGA Tour calendar, the event was moved to September 2019. Since the start of the season in the fall, the event skipped the 2019 season and was the first event of the 2020 season. It was announced in April 2020 that, in part due to the drop in attendance to its September date, making the tournament less attractive to sponsors, the event would not return and the rest of the tour contract had been mutually cancelled agreement.
